Originally filmed for YouTube, they were a bridge between Episode 1 and Episode 2 of "My American Journey". An interesting fact, video footage used in the "Squirrel Fish'n" episodes were later incorporated in episodes of My American Journey. The Detour series was filmed and edited on a much lighter budget and used equipment that was easier to transport, thus the quality of these episodes were more in line with short form "vlogs" popular on YouTube and Social Media.
